Hard To Believe… Sodomite Sues Bible Publisher

July 30, 2008

Click here for “Lawsuit Against Bible” story.

“Bradley LaShawn Fowler of Canton, Michigan, does not like the fact that the Bibles produced by Zondervan and Thomas Nelson Publishers both accurately convey God’s prohibition against homosexual behavior. So he is suing in federal court, seeking $10 million from Thomas Nelson and $60 million from Zondervan.”

“We know that the homosexual activists are now targeting, essentially, born-again Christians and committed Catholics and Mormons who oppose their agenda. They’re out to re-write the Bible, to say that the Bible really does not condemn homosexual practice, which it obviously does…”

Its laughable!

I Have To Agree With Pat

July 25, 2008
I encourage everyone to read this column from Pat Buchanan, Honorable Exit From Empire.

On our ongoing and growing military involvement in Europe he says:

“…By bringing Poland into NATO, we agreed to defend her against the world’s largest nation, Russia, with thousands of nuclear weapons. Now the Polish regime is refusing us permission to site 10 anti-missile missiles on Polish soil, unless we pay Poland billions for the privilege.

Has Uncle Sam gone senile?

No. Tusk has Sam figured out. The old boy is so desperate to continue in his Cold War role as world’s Defender of Democracy he will even pay the Europeans — to defend Europe.

Why not tell Tusk that if he wants an air defense system, he can buy it; that we Americans are no longer willing to pay Poland for the privilege of defending Poland; that the anti-missile missile deal is off. And use cancellation of the missile shield to repair relations with a far larger and more important power, Vladimir Putin’s Russia.”

Concerning South Korea he writes:

Consider, too, the opening South Korea is giving us to end our 60-year commitment to defend her against the North. For weeks, Seoul hosted anti-American protests against a trade deal that allows U.S. beef into South Korea. Koreans say they fear mad-cow disease.

Yet, when a new deal was cut to limit imports to U.S. beef from cattle less than 30 months old, that too was rejected by the protesters. Behind the demonstrations lies a sediment of anti-Americanism.

In 2002, a Pew Research Center survey of 42 nations found 44 percent of South Koreans, second highest number of any country, holding an unfavorable view of the United States. A Korean survey put the figure at 53 percent, with 80 percent of youth holding a negative view. By 39 percent to 35 percent, South Koreans saw the United States as a greater threat than North Korea.

Can someone explain why we keep 30,000 troops on the DMZ of a nation whose people do not even like us?

Read the column. Think about it. Just makes good sense to me.

Greed in the Spirit

July 25, 2008

From the world of Pentecost:

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A man says he was so consumed by the spirit of God that he fell and hit his head while worshipping.

Now he wants Lakewind Church to pay $2.5 million for medical bills, lost income, and pain and suffering.

Matt Lincoln is suing after the church’s insurance company denied his claim for medical bills, he said.

The 57-year-old has had two surgeries since the June 2007 injury but still feels pain in his back and legs.

He said he was asking God to have “a real experience” while praying.

Lincoln said he has fallen from the force of the spirit before but has always been caught by someone.

Lawyers for the church said other congregants saw him on the floor laughing after his fall. They said he failed to look out for his own safety.

Why Did The Chicken Cross The Road

July 23, 2008

BARACK OBAMA: The chicken crossed the road because it was time for a change! The chicken wanted change!

JOHN MC CAIN: My friends, that chicken crossed the road because he recognized the need to engage in cooperation and dialogue with all the chickens on the other side of the road.

HILLARY CLINTON: When I was First Lady, I personally helped that little chicken to cross the road. This experience makes me uniquely qualified to ensure right from Day One! that every chicken in this country gets the chance it deserves to cross the road. But then, this really isn’t about me.

GEORGE W. BUSH: We don’t really care why the chicken crossed the road. We just want to know if the chicken is on our side of the road, or not. The chicken is either against us, or for us. There is no middle ground here.

DICK CHENEY: Where’s my gun?

COLIN POWELL: Now to the left of the screen, you can clearly see the satellite image of the chicken crossing the road.

BILL CLINTON: I did not cross the road with that chicken. What is your definition of chicken?

AL GORE: I invented the chicken.

JOHN KERRY: Although I voted to let the chicken cross the road, I am now against it! It was the wrong road to cross, and I was misled about the chicken’s intentions. I am not for it now, and will remain against it.

AL SHARPTON: Why are all the chickens white? We need some black chickens.

ANDERSON COOPER, CNN: We have reason to believe there is a chicken, but we have not yet been allowed to have access to the other side of the road.

NANCY GRACE: That chicken crossed the road because he’s guilty! You can see it in his eyes and the way he walks.

PAT BUCHANAN: To steal the job of a decent, hardworking American.

BARBARA WALTERS: Isn’t that interesting? In a few moments, we will be listening to the chicken tell, for the first time, the heart warming story of how it experienced a serious case of molting, and went on to accomplish its lifelong dream of crossing the road.

How Big Can Government Get?

July 23, 2008
Government, the Tax Foundation notes, is now the most expensive thing in our lives.
“Americans will work longer to pay for government (113 days) than they will for food, clothing and housing combined,” says the Tax-Freedom-Day report. “In fact, Americans will work longer to afford federal taxes alone (74 days) than they will to afford housing.”

You really should read this story by clicking here How Big Can Government Get?

I was thinking last night that it may be way to late to turn this around. Americans love entitlements and with the lack of any real leadership from either party to turn this ship around I despair. Government is so big (and growing) how will we ever stop it? How will we pay for it? I only see darkness ahead. America needs to wake up. Our children and grandchildren are going to be the ones who will pay the price for this madness.

The Real Al Gore

July 23, 2008

This 20 room residence (not including 8 bathrooms) is heated by natural gas. Its pool (and pool house) and a separate guest house, are all heated by gas. In one month it consumes more energy than the average American household does in a year. The average bill for electricity and natural gas runs over $2400 per month. In natural gas alone, this property consumes more than 20 times the national average for an American home. This house is not situated in a Northern or Midwestern ’snow belt’ area. It’s in the South.

Gore’s mansion, located in the posh Belle Meade area of Nashville, consumes more electricity every month than the average American household uses in an entire year, according to the Nashville Electric Service (NES).

In his documentary, the former Vice President calls on Americans to conserve energy by reducing electricity consumption at home.

The average household in America consumes 10,656 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year, according to the Department of Energy. In 2006, Gore devoured nearly 221,000 kWh – more than 20 times the national average.

Last August alone, 2006, Gore burned through 22,619 kWh-guzzling more than twice the electricity in one month than an average American family uses in an entire year. As a result of his energy consumption, Gore’s average monthly electric bill topped $1,359.

Since the release of An Inconvenient Truth, Gore’s energy consumption has increased from an average of 16,200 kWh per month in 2005, to 18,400 kWh per month in 2006.

Gore’s extravagant energy use does not stop at his electric bill. Natural gas bills for Gore’s mansion and guest house averaged $1,080 per month last year.

“As the spokesman of choice for the global warming movement, Al Gore has to be willing to walk to walk, not just talk the talk, when it comes to home energy use,” said Tennessee Center for Policy Research President Drew Johnson. While were fighting Al Qaeda in Iraq…

July 22, 2008
… we forgot about the half of the world we live in. Everything that the Reagan Administration accomplished in Central and South America has been flushed down the drain. Below is Chavez and Russian prez Medvedev making nice in Moscow.

Chavez is expected to reach a number of agreements for purchasing military hardware while in Russia, according to Russian news media reports. One newspaper reported that the deals could be worth up to $2 billion.

More Middle Eastern Madness

July 22, 2008

“But possibly even more disappointing than the Israeli government’s willingness to make deals with terrorists is the reception that greeted the release of Samir Kuntar in parts of the Middle East last week.”

Charismatic Civil War?

July 19, 2008

Can We Avoid a Charismatic Civil War? – Fire In My Bones

Wow! Really? I wasn’t aware. I guess that’s what I get for being out of the TBN loop (what I call “Hollywood Christianity”). Us little guys are just having church and trying to live for God and these guys are setting up big tents and starting wars. Not this charismatic. I for one will be a conscientious objector and flee to the Kingdom of God. There are no blues and grays there.

Great article by Grady who is generally right on the money. I understand that after increasing scrutiny and a lack of documented evidence for all the miracles he has been boasting of, Bentley has moved on. It is truly unfortunate that we who are in the Full Gospel tribe have to keep dealing with this sort of thing. The supernatural does not have to be weird and if God heals someone there should be some evidence. Hopefully we will all learn something from this.

Common Sense Prevails… For Now

July 18, 2008
Check this story out by clicking here: Texas State Board of Education approves Bible course for high schools

“The State Board of Education on Friday gave final approval to a rule establishing an elective Bible course for high schools, but the panel rejected the arguments of some members and key lawmakers – and left it up to local school districts to design the classes.”

I am convinced that public (government) education is in the state it is in (messed up!) because of the interference of government beyond the local school board. Here is proof. It is as if the State of Texas is granting permission to the local schools to teach a particular course… in this case a Bible course (oh my!).

How did it come to this anyway? I commend Texas for doing it but it should never have been that a state government gave permission to a local school district to do what the First Amendment allows anyway.

And whats wrong with teaching kids the most influential body of work in Western Civilization? I really don’t care what a Muslim or Hindu nor an atheist thinks about it. You can’t change the facts. We are a nation that was formed by people who had very Judeo-Christian idea about the world. Thats just the way it is! Get over it.

Shouldn’t local school districts be able to decide for themselves what they want? Why should the state or, even worse, the Feds, tell communities what they can teach their kids. I believe those of us on the local level would know better about what we want our kids to learn.

Quit backing down folks. Don’t let the folks that want to hand your kid a condom at your kid’s school tell you your community school district can’t teach a course on the Bible. We need to get loud about such things. “Don’t tread on me.”

I’m just sayin’
